Good stuff. I was checking those out at the boards & waves expo. Love the sliding rail idea. Might actually hang some from my ceiling.

Good luck with the kickstarter!

@RegularJoe ...

... hang some from the ceiling??

Will that work ???

It looked like they were more for holding boards vertical against a wall.

Hmmmm....

Sure but you'd need about 30 grips to hold that log you ride!

Cool idea. I think the surfshops should be a big customer!

This is great!  Kickstarter launched my product and business a year ago and it's been a wild ride since!

I think daner would hang with a few less than you, SS...

The vid on their site shows a guy holding one in his hand with the board hanging from it. I tested the same thing in their booth at the boards & waves expo.

The grip level depends somewhat on the thickness of your board 2"-3" in from the rail, where the pinch is applied. And from there, it depends on how much your board weighs.

I think most of my epoxy shortboards would be little problem with one gripper per board, when the grippers are new. I don't know if they'd lose much "pinch" after a few hundred in/out cycles, but I'll be dead before reaching those numbers. Same question would apply though after a few years in the same position for wall-hangers or rare-day boards.

Either way, for ceiling mount, I'd probably just double up and use two grippers per board, maybe with some sort of safety catch for the bunch, and if they don't work for the logs, I'll find another option.

For wall-mount with board weight on the floor, they're not only fine, but the sliding rail is pure genius.

Yeww.... Thanks for the positivity...  I would love to see how you guys use them... I think there alot of options that I probably have not considered. It is simple and will lend itself to alot of different applications...

@RegularJoe... Thanks for swinging through the booth...

Congrates on a great looking product and campaign.

Question: is the grip rated to hold board against a wall horizontally? As in by the rail without anything touching the ground.

I ask because I am interested/not trying to be a smart ass

Didn't appear to be, and the balance might be a bit odd, but I bet it would with two per board.

As I mentioned in my earlier post about hanging them from the ceiling, it might be better/safer with 2 grips per board. But the amount of "pinch" will depend mainly on the rail thickness of your board, and the "hold" depending on the weight of your board.

Their demo at the expo also included a nice floor pad for the board's tail to rest on if you're doing the "traditional" wall mount. You can see it at 1:10 into that video on the Inertia site.

----

@funkydrummer, I actually cleared out a spot in my garage where I'd like to try some hanging from the ceiling. I'll pay for about 4' of rail and 4-6 grippers if you have any you can part with. Sent you a PM with my number.
