We went looking for some Mangroves out of the inlet.

We only managed these everywhere we went; from 60 to 130 feet I got the one in the picture on 30 pound leader, a split shot and a small chunk of cut bait.

Pretty soon the Atlantic will be nothing but American Red Snapper.

Nice pic and report, up in Jacksonville they are everywhere too and make fishing for anything else near impossible.

Some guys claim to have spots inside state waters >3miles and have been brining some home.....I bet the FWC would hassle the crap out of someone for that but apparently if you catch them inside and run straight to port without leaving state waters your good.

Bet that was fun on the spinner!

Have you been getting any grovers IN the inlet lately?

Not yet. My buddy snorkeled the inlet on the 4th and said he didn't see any. A billion Pilchards and a million snook, but not many snappers.

I might give the Summer Flounder a shot this weekend.

I went for a cruise to inlet Friday night (23:30-01:00), tide was ripping in bringing a ton of weird goopy green algae.....

Saw one guy get a snook on buck tail on the east finger of kiddie pool, we had to leave before the current slowed enough to use the live mojarra I netted.

Hadn't been there in years so was fun to check it out, but man I always get bummed seeing the wanton waste that goes on there.

Hundreds of dead greenies caked to the catwalks along with dead catfish and some jumbo threadfins....plus all the trash!

O well, may try and time the tide better next time and get to wet a line, not sure what website to use but the one I read and the guard shack showed high at 00:30

The inlet has been plagued with weeds, algae and all types of weird shit.

I couldn't even fish the last time I went down.
