Fished the first hour of out going on a whim and nada. They guy on the rocks next to me said he saw few decent fish come in during the incoming on finger mullet. We were south of the tide pool on the north side. I watched some kids with decent Pilchards by the back south cleaning table doing it right and they got nothing too. We ditched flounder a half hour before dark and were getting snook on every other cast (grubs, bucktails) where the old cleaning table was on the north side. Big ass tarpon off the tip of the north, but they like it rough, so I doubt there are still around.

Went again yesterday. No flatties for me on shrimp or minnows. Tons of blues and mackerel off south beaches, was in a boat in between hole and beach not sure about them getting them from the surf. I don't see why not...

Flounder are a real pain in the ass. It was colder Sunday maybe that's why I got them. But man the blues and mackerel were fun. Lots of boats fly fishing them. |
