Hi folks,
I have a winter mexican avocado that I planted about two months ago. It's about 5 feet tall and planted in an area that gets full to partial sun on beachside. I water it every day and I fertilized it about a month ago. As you can see, the leaves have brown tips, and I think it's getting worse. Help! thanks! |

That looks like leaf tip burn. Usually from salt. Probably from the fertilizer or the water quality. Also, transplant shock can do it. It probably will grow out of it. I don't think it is recommended to fertilize newly planted trees.

salt spray or irrigation...I stopped planting grafts, and only plant seedlings now. I killed too many to justify buying anymore. Going for hybrid vigor. Good luck. You might try planting bananas around it to provide some cover from salt spray while it gets established.
