Think I have this on one of my smaller trees, tree is flushing
I am guessing it should be left alone at this time?

Black sooty mold isn't good, but won't kill the tree. It will cut back on the germination of the flowers. sulfur and fungicide will help. look up how to apply. otherwise get variety that aren't as effective by it. Older Florida variety are typically not good with sooty mold.
