Looking like a soggy, breezy (onshore) Saturday and wet Sunday.

You doing rain forecasting now?

it has been very dry in my yard. I've still got captured rain water i'm using for the Jaboticaba but that is almost out. Need a refill. I'll set up the buckets for the 'wet' Sunday. I had removed all my rain buckets for dorian clean up.

I've also noticed a sharp decrease in mosquito. That usually means all the standing pooled water has dried up.

Same thing happened in 2016 after Mathew. Wet season just shut down and October 2016 into April 2017 was extremely dry. Last year August through January was extremely dry in Brevard, Indian River, and Eastern Osceolla county. St. Johns was at record low levels in January 2017 and January 2019. In both cases the wet season ended before water managers on the upper basin went into storage mode. Early end to the wet season is becoming the norm. Interesting thing is that it is ending before being triggered by fall frontal passages. It is ending because were are getting baked under very deep and dry sub-tropical high pressure systems. The National Weather Service GFS model predicted that Dorian would zip across Florida as something between an open wave and weak tropical storm on August 30 to 31. UK and Euro models predicted that it would be further north in the Carribean, move a lot slower, get a lot bigger. GFS predicted that the proto-Humberto low would cross FL last weekend and give us much needed rain UK predicted that it would move slow, lift north, and form a cyclone in the Atlantic. GFS is not handling weather in the tropical and sub-tropical Atlantic well. Hasn't for some time. Question of the day is how far south that MCS that blew up off Savannah early this morning will make it before dissipating.

Two nights ago I did get about 1/4 inch of rain. Filled the rain buckets up half way. Still not enough, like mentioned above...it's all dried up again.

I can really tell the difference due to how fast my pool water evaporates. Didn't have to fill the pool up at all July/August, now late September, an inch a week.

Now that it is Fall, humidity has really dropped. Thus, moisture getting sucked out.

My soil is bone dry. The sun angle now starting to come from the South. southern exposure plants showing drought wilt.

Break out the water hoses!
