e11even Posts: 136 Joined Forum: 02/20/2014	Anybody know where to get a true plantain tree. Not one of those banana trees that are passed off as plantains or maduros. I had one of those and did not like them. They just are not the same as a green plantain to make tostones. Or if you have one I would be happy to come dig out a pup and give you a fair price for it. ------------------------- -

Central Floridave Posts: 52285 Joined Forum: 07/22/2003	About 20 years ago I researched growing plantain. There is a dwarf variety where the stalk gets to 8 to 10 feet versus the other plantain that get to 15+. Easier to maintain.
