Mine dropped from 13.6% last year to 13 % (tax paid / adjusted income). That's a saving of less than one SBU (surfboard unit) per $10k tax paid. HMMM...

About 13.2% to 12.9% but putting on finishing touches. Previously was itemizing but this time standard deduction used.

Eyeballing it, I saved about a grand. Not enough to really notice over the course of a year.

Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.

In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer".

Mine went from 17% to 14.44% filing jointly. No complaints here.

No complaints until the bill comes due. My generation won't pay it (I am 63), but, if you are in your 40s or younger, you will one way or another. They are buying votes with your money. Another "gift" from my generation to yours.

The cuts for normal people end in a few years. The corporate cuts are permanent I believe.

Mine filed jointly stayed the same.

I tell them, Thank the Donald, and they didn't realize....... Nobody told them...... They NEVER heard the News that Trump gave them all a tax break.............. They spent all year hating on Trump and when they complete their taxes they find a gift and they can't figure out WHY didn't they know....... I tell them get your head Out Of the bubble man..... Well somebodyelse, I don't know where you work, but the millennial's in my office don't hate on Donald because the LOL "Liberal Media" tell them too, nor because they thought he wasn't going to share enough of the treasury raid booty with him.

They hate him because he is a disgusting failure as a human.
A racist sexist pig, a lying sack of shit.
A fraud, a thief, a traitor
Unfit for office.
Chipping away at their future
with both ignorance and malice.

Embarrassing.

GOT IT?

I haven't completed mine yet, I'm stalling but my taxes and rate are both way up, but that's mostly because I went independent and am making more.
I'm no multi-millionaire, so I don't think the changes in the income tax law affected me much other than the bigger standard deduction muddied up my planning a bit.

Of course my Social Security tax rates has gotten quite smaller as I make more income, but that's the way this middle class entitlement is supposed to work, right?

Well, this made it almost a month before getting a NSR hall pass. MODS: how about rather than sending this to the Not Suitable for Reading page, just kill the political posts so folks can continue to add data for comparison. At least until April 15? (sorry guys)

oddly different perspective for me. couple of mine hate trump but couldnt even be bothered to vote. couple did vote, but for stein. the couple the voted for clinton are pissed at the rest especially the one trump voter among them. they had to be yelled at to stop talking politics at work, hahaha

It appears this year I'm giving my right nut whereas in past administrations I gave my left nut. Meanwhile, as we argue which nut is more important to give, we simply dislike each other and are left nutless. That is all. Carry on.
