NEW, 2020 UPDATE: At King Center Studio Theater on Saturday Feb 15

Guaranteed good guitar, just hoping Andy Powell recovers from the laryngitis and bronchitis he picked up in Germany last week in time to handle the vox.

Good seats still available. GARCIA, I'll buy you a pair if you want to go!

NEW, 2018 UPDATE: At King Center Studio Theater on Saturday April 7

Always a good show!

Original post/thread from 2014 below:
-----------------------------------------------------
Some of you saw the nostalgic Hatteras roadtrip vid set to a soundtrack by underappreciated melodic genius Wishbone Ash.

The band will be at Lou's Blues (Indialantic) on Tues 4/15, and in Orlando at The Plaza Live on Wed 4/16.

They were early pioneers of the twin lead guitar sound.

Original member Andy Powell still rockin' his Flying V guitar.

Good tunes, lots of 70's sound, lots more rock-ish stuff than what you hear in the vid. Definitely worth seeing.

Hope it's a good turnout!

Also Thurs 4/17 at the Bamboo Room in Lake Worth

and Fri 4/18 at Ringside Cafe in St. Pete

Glad you asked. Glad anyone asked, lol...

Musically, two of the best shows I've seen in 35 years. Searing lead guitar stuff all night long. Lead guitarist #1 Andy Powell still kills it at age 64-ish, plenty of energy. Their "newer" lead guitarist (Muddy Manninen) also plays slide guitar, so they had some killer blues sound as well. On "Phoenix" I swear he channeled Stevie Ray Vaughn.

The show at Lou's Blues was great; nice intimate size venue for a band like WA, good acoustics, great sound engineering, and the band seemed genuinely stoked to be there.

The show in Orlando was a bigger venue, but with a seat 4 feet from Andy Powell's monitor, the sound is as perfect as it's gonna get, although a bit loud. Ears are still ringing, and the audio front end on my camera phone saturated with every video I shot. Bummed about that, but I've found some other video on Facebook that came out much better.

Will post a few vids if I can find non-FB links to them. Meanwhile, here are a few stills from my camera phone (reduced size/resolution):

FAIL converting the uploaded attachments to embedded images.

Going to bed.

Happy Easter, everyone!

--> Not from the FL shows, but the same lineup playing one of the songs I was hoping they'd do here but didn't: Sometime World

My roommate freshman year was a real fanatic. I might have liked them if I hadn't had to listen to them 24 hrs a day. Funny that I can't remember a single song, just the fact that he drove me over the edge by playing them nonstop. I do remember the album (yes, album) covers though. (Of course, he is probably still saying the same about my GD, NRPS and Burrito Bros. Things even out, I guess.)

RJ dragged me to BOC a few years ago.

They tore it up. Glad I went.

Glad you did too. Sometimes a band is really tight. WA was in great form Saturday. Multiple friends were stoked.

Funny thing about that BOC show: that one was the first time I had seen Richie Castellano as their "new" second guitarist. I later recognized him in an instructional video on youtube (while setting up my daughter's Audio Technica turntable). I guess classic rock is not so profitable anymore, unless you're getting royalties from way back.
