I listened to the brother on NPR; he and the rest of the family, as well as Valentine himself (he is too sick to speak publicly), are pleading with people to get the vaccine and to take the virus seriously. They also condemned Tucker and Ingraham for spreading lies about the vaccine. Death threats in 3...2...1..

The anti-tax anti-mask people love to claim that all of the people that died of covid would have died anyway because of their shitty lifestyle choices (fat, smoking, etc...). But I know of way too many people that were healthy and under senior citizen age that have gotten really sick or died from this for their assessment to be accurate. Oddly enough, my neighbor who is diabetic, on dialysis, and has had 3 heart attacks survived it even though it put him in ICU for a couple of months and they had to sell their house to pay the bill. But a friends father who was in good health and in his early 60s died from it. I personally know more people that have died from covid in the last year than I know people that have died from influenza in my entire lifetime and I am genX so I am not all that young.

Scrom, I agree about the knowing more people seriously affected by covid this past year and a half vs flu in my entire lifetime. A couple folks had covid las year and are long haulers and still affected, and my MIL died last January. She lived in a very rural area and that didn't help as she probably would have lived if she had earlier and better medical treatment.

I applaud this guy and his family for sharing their experiences with COVID and getting the word out.

I wish the Cheeto Jesus would have been as forthcoming about his experiences. Might have motivated more of his cult to protect themselves which in turn would protect others.

An anti-vaccine right-wing radio host in West Palm Beach, Florida died Wednesday from COVID-19 complications.

Dick Farrel, 65, used his local talk show and social media to rail against Dr. Anthony Fauci, who he called a "power tripping lying freak," and say that no one should get the coronavirus vaccine. When COVID-19 sent him to the hospital for three weeks, though, he changed his tune, urging friends to get vaccinated, friends told local station WPTV.

Farrel wrote in early July, "Vaccine Bogus Bull Shid!, Two peeps I know, got vaxed, now have Corona, hospitalized critical. Thank you Moderna, FOR NOTHING!" He erroneously told his followers they would not need the vaccine if they had already survived COVID-19. The CDC has advised former coronavirus patients to get vaccinated.
