O dark thirty at the ramp with Capt Bob and Ray the bug man. Bob has over 100 croakers in the live wells, in the 19" Spyder. Out to a grass flat just out of the ramp. Bang...it's the Mosquito lagoon grand slam: jack, cat, dancing lady and toad fish. Glad we got that out of the way early. (one keeper trout)

One to the next spot. Limited the trout with one at 25".

The sunrise was spectacular. Some clouds with lightning in the distance. Big ball of fire rises. A few boats out. Stream of travelers in power cats, sail and trawler heading north in the Intercoastal. The Haulover bridge was stuck in the up position. (had to go up past Scotsmoor, to get to Beacon 42)

Hooked 2 pretty good size sharks. I did not see what they were. Got cut off quickly.

Now we head just north of Beacon 42. Around a mile. It's a rocky west side shoreline.
There is an old, wrecked boat on the bottom here. We throw the croakers here. BANG double hook up. SNOOK! (all in the 25"-30" range) This is my all-time favorite gamefish. The way it hits the bait, the power, jumps, slashes the water, fights the whole time. great runs against the drag. Several break offs on what I assume were larger snook) 6 snook latter, it's time to go.

We caught over 40 trout. 6 snook, 3 jacks, 8 cats, 5 dancing ladies, 1 toad, broke off on the 2 sharks.

This was another excellent day in the beautiful Mosquito Lagoon. The water was murky.
