Sizes vary among brands. As a chubby 5'8, I do well with Hurley (when they were Nike), Feral (they showed up at the Fla. Surf Film Festival), Volte (done and gone?), Hotline (would never have heard of them but for Cleanline), O'Neill and DaKine (non-zip entry. Go figure).
There's problematic fits with Rip Curl (an excellent 4 mm F Bomb but I have an impossible time with the fur lining, even wearing slippery knee socks), Hyperflex (chest entry just does not work, though a Hyperflex Greenprene 3/2 fits fine), and one very high quality Hurley that's smaller than their regular sizing. I think it might be good for someone about 5'9 and 180 or a bit lower. (A 4/3 Hurley Advantage from Nike days fits well but Feral and O'Neill backzips get the water time). A fairly cheap Quiksilver Syncro Plus should fit me (chart says 5'11 to 6'1, 185-205 lbs, 42-44 chest, 16.5" neck), inseam 29.5-30.5)...but trying to get it on, frustrating.
p.m. I can show up with selected goods. Will predictably be at Heathcote Botanical Gardens Friday and Saturday afternoons, prepping the Garden of Lights.
