Looks like that would have been the perfect swell to follow up the Atlantic seaboard!

Funny you say that, as I considered flying up as I have family in west Long Island, but logistically didnt make sense. I opted for 3 days of fun waves here and $ in my pocket, vs one day of FIRING waves there (they had some bad winds, not to mention it was HALF that size where I most likely wouldve been surfing... I'm guessing that's Montauk....not sure I have a board here for a wave like that anyway

For sure Plan B. The last time I could not paddle out was on the Hamptons as a macker hurricane swell passed there (Edouard '96). Straight offshore and gorgeous. But I got waves on either side of the peak of the swell that were nuts.

Ha, last time I actually surfed up there was 1995.... Hurricane Felix. A certain left hander into an inlet was off the hook.

I had wondered about the spot labeled as "N. FLA" ( with the driftwood ) was good ...... I will have to check into that.
