It's nice to see a college president who is not wrapped up in an ego-driven crusade to become a football school. Catanese did it to two schools. It's like mayors saying they are mortgaging their taxpayers future so that they can become "a major league city" (which is really a means for him/her to get a better table at the mayors' conferences).

I heard that Eastern Florida is canning their soccer program. Cost cutting?

Also, I had seen the "high points" of statements made by the head of NCAA sports. He basically said that if there are no students on campus, there will be NO Football team for the affected college!

And, as such, you all should know that NCAA Football provides just about 100% of all the funding for just about every other college sport, except perhaps basketball and baseball.

No football equals no track, no tennis, no swiming, no soccer etc., , , , ,

Your child's high school sports career may have ended prematurely, but now it's looking very likely that they will not have a college career either. How much have you been paying for that private soccer coach and all those "camp" road-trips?

For private colleges, football has sometimes been an effective way to recruit students. Lots of guys like the game. At elite liberal arts colleges and smaller universities (Florida Tech size), athletics has overall been a big deal, one of the ways you separate the upper crust from ordinary folks. But football is running into problems. Does Florida Tech have water polo?

If they cancel NCAA or NFL seasons...WE RIOT!

Tom Brady at Buccs, Tua at Fins, UCF gonna have a fantastic chance to make a run. Gators top ten team.

Jags suck as usual.

Canes have a chance w/new Qb.

So many things to look forward to for 2020 season. Hope it happens!

For Florida Tech football, bummer. I never made a game but was following it on wins/losses.

EFSC did cancel mens soccer. The coach got a job in Colorado and I guess they decided rather than hiring a new coach, just shut the program down.

Doesn't look like you have to wait for that cancellation.

September 10
The NFL is currently planning to open its 101st season on Thursday, Sept. 10, with a matchup featuring the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans. The league has contingency plans in place if certain locales are not able to host games by that date.
