Irrigation, sun shielding and heat loading might have an effect on normal growth?

Maybe try reading it.

But he soon discovered that the shade from the towering panels above the soil actually helped the plants thrive. That intermittent shade also meant a lot less evaporation of coveted irrigation water. And in turn the evaporation actually helped keep the sun-baked solar panels cooler, making them more efficient.

I remember reading about solar panels on a thread here years ago where 3rdworldlover pointed out that using arable land to put down panels was a needless sacrifice when all of our roofs can already collect sunlight and never grow food. Turns out the shade is good. 50% less water!

Not much sun gets through the solar farm near here to the ground, all depends what's growing.

Can grow farm under wind turbines because of the cancer threat.

Whether that will work or not depends on a lot of things.Type of crop, type of irrigation system, distance between rows of panels, weed control method. It's hard enough to grow things without that complication. But worth looking into.

It's going to have to be perfected bc it's the most likely way to accomplish both goals.

There needs to be solid tax deductions for multi use too.

FPL took out their huge oil tanks in West Palm Beach just west of I95 and replaced it with solar panels. I think it's a very visual high profile effort but it's a start.
