Here's a new concept of battery technology being made in Michigan:

Battery startup ONE aims to slash cell cost, deliver 600-mile range

Michigan-based startup Our Next Energy has unveiled a new anode-free battery pack designed to slash cell cost as much as 50% while delivering up to 600 miles (965 km) of driving range, the company said Tuesday.

The young company hopes to begin producing its Gemini pack at a new 20-gigawatt-hour U.S. manufacturing plant in 2026

While the lithium-rich manganese nickel cathodes are still being refined, the current version of the range-extender cells uses cathodes made of nickel, cobalt and manganese.

By eliminating the anode in those cells, ONE says it can slice the cell cost in mass production by $50 per kilowatt-hour - a significant savings over current costs estimated at $100-$110 per kWh.

"Our goal is to launch the Gemini battery in 2026 with zero cobalt and 26% nickel or less, using manganese as the primary cathode material," Ijaz said.

Who was on watch during those years? What was our President doing?

in 2021, as part of a license transfer. An investigation by NPR and the Northwest News Network found the federal agency allowed the technology and jobs to move overseas, violating its own licensing rules while failing to intervene on behalf of U.S. workers in multiple instances.

There is a lot of good stuff in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 to correct that.
There are requirements that green energy components must be built in the USA to receive the tax breaks.

Thanks Joe.

Except it does nothing to curb inflation, just the opposite!

We shall see.

Gas prices are down,
house prices have stopped screaming up,
but
food is going to be stubborn,
and this tight labor market is going to continue
to increase the price of anything served to you.

This bill does reduce inflation in meds costs for geezers.

The battery issue is going to be next space race. Energy storage will make micro grids and renewables the norm. China can pivot and direct their economy towards this goal. America, on the other hand, is still debating climate change and it's consequences.
