Dolphins, Chiefs, Giants and Bucs are the only ones that made it to 2-0. I'd have to say that the fish and the G-men are the biggest surprises, IMHO.

GO Bucs!

They need to just let Evans and Lattimore go ahead and duke it out to get it out of their systems. lol Tom Brady looked like Darth Vader, calmly walking with bodies flying all around him!

Tua was 36/50 with 6 TDs for 468 yards and a 121.1 rating. 4 of those TDs in the 4th quarter. Crazy freaking game.

Hill 190 and Waddle 171 receiving yards and 2 TDs each. Speed kills

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa received a bit of positive news from the initial tests on his head and neck injuries that he suffered in Thursday's game against the Bengals.

As first reported by Josina Anderson, Tagovailoa traveled back with the rest of his team on Thursday night while wearing a neck brace. His first round of scans came back negative, signifying that he did not suffer any broken bones against Cincinnati.

The 24-year-old is expected to undergo an MRI upon his return to Miami. He has also officially entered concussion protocol, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Tagovailoa left the short-week game against the Bengals after he was tackled hard by Cincinnati tackle Josh Tupou in the second quarter of the contest. His head hit the ground on the play, and his fingers curled as he laid down on the field for several minutes.

Dolphins trainers out to take Tagovailoa off the field, and backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater came in to replace him. The Dolphins lost the Week 4 road tilt, 27 - 15.

I can't believe they continued to play him when he stumbled back to the huddle. How clear does something need to be before you act?

He went back to the locker room was cleared by the protocol put in place. He was having back pain and spasms prior to that play from his QB sneak where he got hyper extended. Speaking from someone that has had back spasms take my legs out from underneath me. It is easy to assume things, but unless you were involved with evaluating him, that is all it is.

He was evaluated my the team doctor, an independent league doctor, and later an outside physician. He was then evaluated every date leading up to the Thursday night game and no concussion was found. What else is a team supposed to do when their QB1 says he is good to go and all the evaluations come back negative?

The guy was fired, so yea, there is that.

If he stumbles, you pull him from that game.

I find the comparison between you and a top-of-the-line pro athlete quite funny. The dude went from perfect shape to not being about to walk. That is a problem.

"We understand some of that chatter, but the reality is the protocols are really important. We follow that strictly. We see no indication that that didn't happen in this case. There's an ongoing investigation, " he said. "We're really focused on doing that. But we're also prepared to make a change or two in the protocols because we think we can actually add another element that would make it even safer."

Talking heads and newly minted arm chair experts aside, it looks like the protocols were followed. The league is changing the protocols because of the optics, but yeah

In that note, players stumble all the time. Cramps or muscle spasms generally being the cause. You start pulling players with no signs of concussion every time they get hit hard, half the players will be sidelined at any given time. The real issue to be concerned about is Thursday night football. It is too short of a time following a Sunday game. Half the fins were on the injury report thanks to 4 days between games in a violent sport

You can watch the replay in ultra slow mo and more or less pinpoint the point in injury. The first looked like whiplash and that pretty damn bad too. If your bell is rung and you stagger around, you need to come off the field. The NFL has been killing people for decades for this very reason.

As I said, you didn't examine the guy and see just playing the part of an arm chair "expert". Both the NFLPA and the NFL came to the conclusion in the investigation that all protocols were followed and Tua passed them. As far as the doctor being fired before there was an investigation and having his integrity and name dragged through the mud, I hope he lawyers up and takes them for a few million. It was a knee jerk reaction based on optics, not facts.

... and Cole I was not comparing myself to a professional athlete (and frankly, that was a dumb fucking take), I was stating that severe cramps can take your legs out from underneath you. Anyone who has had them, professional athlete or not, knows this to be true. Even with the NFL changing the protocols going forward, Tua would have still be allowed to return because it was determined not to be neurological.

You can see the snap motion to his head was the reason for the loss of balance. We have all had cramps, they drop you to the ground and you grab them hoping for relief. It was apples to oranges with what happened on the field.

And sorry for being so blunt with the pro athlete comment. 10 days of the flu had me a bit irritable.

Backup QB goes down 1st play, along with pro bowl tackle, and no Xavien Howard period. Being in it 19-17 was a surprise to be honest..... then the damn broke. Third string QB showed why he is third string. If he went down, a WR was playing QB.

Teddy had an elbow injury that somehow ended up with him in concussion protocol. Only QB put in it yesterday. Interesting.... Speaking of arm chair experts and eye tests, he sure didn't look concussed to me. Looked like any other player getting up after a hit.

Anybody see that roughing the passer call on Atlanta on Tom Brady that pretty much sealed the win for the Buccs? Protectionism much?

I'm more of a buccs fan but that call by the ref was ridiculous. It was just a good sack and the falcons would have gotten the ball back and a chance to win.

Clearly Grady Jarrett didn't get the NFL memo that it is 2 Hand Touch "Football" ONLY, if a defensive player must make ANY contact with Saint Tom of Brady. The preferred option is to not make any physical contact whatsoever and to simply knee reverently at his saintly feet

I still don't know the real story of Miami quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's removal from the Dolphins' game at the Jets after one offensive snap. In the irony of ironies, Bridgewater, Tagovailoa's backup, was tackled hard on Miami's first play and left the game for the locker room. He never returned. We were told the injury spotter in the press box saw in Bridgewater some ataxia; the QB was somehow unstable, per the spotter. In accord with the 20-hour-old NFL rule about motor instability - the rule that came into effect at 5 p.m. ET Saturday - Bridgewater was ruled out for the game. Maybe Bridgewater did stumble, but we never saw it. The Dolphins never saw it. CBS replays never showed it. ESPN reported he passed all concussion tests, but it didn't matter. Bridgewater, after one snap, was finished.

I had no idea they played on turf. If that become the norm, there won't be a player left on any field. That shit is brutal.

Let's see, found this on a dolphins site:

1. Tua just won the Air player of the week for the 2nd time (in 5 full games played).

2. Hill and Waddle have 5 of the top 10 receiving yardage games this year

3. Hill and Waddle have combined for 1688 receiving yards. 8 teams have less receiving yardage for their entire roster.

4. Tua is 12-1 in the last 13 games he started and finished.

5. Tua has the highest graded game of any QB in the NFL this year so far 96.8 PFF

6. Tua is #1 in rating 112.7, #1 in QBR 78.7, #1 in average 9.0/yds, #3 in comp% at 69.9, his adjusted yds/game would make him #3, tie for #7 in total TDs despite missing 2.5 games, #1 EPA, #1 DVoA, #2 air yards per attempt (no arm?)

7. Tua so far this season has the best 3rd down passing stats ever recorded in a single season since the NFL started keeping metrics in 1991.

2022 Tua Tagovailoa 142.7
1994 Steve Young 141.2
1999 Kurt Warner 137.3
2009 Aaron Rodgers 133.5

8. Tua has the highest comp% in passes >20yds in the NFL and is T-4th in total completions with >40 air yards.

Kid is having himself quite a year. If he stays healthy it looks like he can be elite. Now, only if the fins D can get together, they might be poised to make a run. Maybe adding Chubb will help.

Dolphins Defense has been playing pretty good in my opinion. They just got a great Linebacker pre trade deadline.

Again, Tua is balling ..... this time vs the Browns. If he keeps this up, he is going to find himself in the MVP talk despite missing 2.5 games. 39-17 fins win, again, again, again, and again.

Dolphins continue to roll, but tough road looms
All certainly is great for the Dolphins at the moment.

Miami won its fifth straight game on Sunday, easily dispatching the Houston Texans to take advantage of a recent schedule that also featured the Browns, Bears, Lions and Steelers.

Kudos should go to Miami for taking advantage of that schedule and winning those games, because those teams still feature professionals and it's not easy to win five games in a row in the NFL.

But things are about to get a lot tougher for the 8-3 Dolphins.

Miami will hit the road for three straight games, the first two being back-to-back treks across the country to play the 49ers in San Francisco and the Chargers in Los Angeles.

Then, the Dolphins will have to get their winter gear out of the closets for a December showdown in Buffalo.

By the time the Dolphins return home to play Green Bay on Christmas Day, we should fully know what their prospects for an AFC East title are.

They seem to be clicking on all cylinders. But boy it hit the fan for a minute when they took Tua out of the game yesterday.

Terron Armstead is out with a Grade 2 Pec Strain for several weeks minimum. Losing a pro-bowl tackle and the anchor of their line is going to hurt. Hopefully Mike McGenius can scheme up something to keep Tua alive against the Niners defense. Also the other tackle who just returned off of injury hurt his ankle again. No bueno.

Anyhow 8-3 .... 8-0 when Tua isn't out injured this year and 15-2 going back last year.
