Rules are simple, cut-n-paste the text. Use the Bold function and highlight who you think wins. -1 for a wrong pick, +1 for right pick. For the Championship game gotta pick who is in it and who wins.
Will be hard to pick winners and losers with portal transfers, coaches leaving/going, NFL sit outs. A lot of variables. Good luck! |

If you are late to pick after games start, just go ahead and give yourself a -1 for games you missed. Just for fun, informal, and try to make the upcoming bowl games interesting as hard as that may be!

So many utterly meaningless games.
Between the transfer portal, players sitting out, interim coaches, and lack of playoff implications, I'd rather just see these guys take the month off and enjoy a holiday rather than play a 13th or 14th game. |

I get the point it is meaningless to some. But, an extra 15 practices, getting younger players in the game. Some players looking to advance. Money for the schools and conference. Fans an excuse to travel to uh...birmingham alabama...etc. Plus, it is momentum into the spring game. Bragging rights, yes, Any gator fan I met in person gets reminded of last year's gasparilla bowl. Etc etc etc...Plus, it's good college football fodder for social media. Thus, long live bowl games... But, yes, most are meaningless to the casual sport's fan. Whatever, it is what it is...What's your pick? It will make it more interesting. First games tomorrow, Friday, Dec 16th. Don't let me win and brag about it in the end.

My pick? Duke beats UCF, because they want it more. I hope it turns out to be more of a UF/Gasparilla replay than a BYU replay, but I'm not optimistic.

I'm picking UCF to beat Duke. Plumlee hamstring will be healthy. Duke Qb is pretty good and they have a good defense and yes, they probably 'want it more'. It's duke first bowl game since 2018. But, hopefully UCF is taking this game serious and use it for a springboard into the big12. Recruiting signing day is dec 21, and transfers coming and going from UCF. UCF just picked up another Bama Wr transfer. But, that is for next year. With just one pick, your score will be either a -1 or a +1. You may win with that!

For a discussion, tomorrow's game between Troy and UTSA is interesting due to the top 25 ranking. Cure bowl is in Orlando. Friday probably will be great weather for attending a bowl game. If i wasn't busy I'd consider going.
Gators playing pre christmas bowl with 28 players left the team and a qb that is who? Oregon State probably gonna romp those gators in nevada. Also, of note, the Cinci vs Lousville game....Coach fickle of course moved over to Wisky, but Louisville coach is now head coach for Cinci. Oops. Don't give away any secrets on how to beat Louisville. |

Gotta confess, when I first saw Miami in a bowl game, I rolled my eyes and asked how bad things have gotten if they let this year's 'Canes into a bowl game.
Rereading caught the Ohio part, and partly restored my faith in humanity. Miami over UAB, Oregon State over UF, FSU over Oklahoma. Michigan beats TCU, then Georgia beats Ohio State and Michigan for all the cheese. |

Check out this website i found thru google searching. comprehinsive on every bowl game, tidbits, players in/out, mood of team. https://www.fantasypros.com/20...coaching-changes-2022/ Thanks, great link. The internet traffic between Vegas and that site has probably already jammed some routers. That's exactly what I was looking for before I opened my mouth with the UCF/Duke prediction. I did see another site that mentioned a few Duke players as questionable that weren't reported by your link (yet). Nowhere near as many as I knew would be absent from UCF. Those factors are going to play a big role in a lot of these bowl games. Edited: 12/16/2022 at 08:04 AM by CurtisEflush |

Didn't use to be that way. Bowl season was awesome until the BCS or whatever they call it now came about. The current "we must have one team as Natl Champ" setup sucks. |

USC giving 2pts to Tulane has me seriously seriously considering coming out of sport betting retirement, with a semi serious play on the Trojans.

LOL ....damn good thing I stayed in sports betting retirement!! Tulane played a great game and pulled off an outstanding win! Also ...... at some point, Lincoln Riley REALLY needs to figure out that his teams need to play just a little bit of DEFENSE!!!!!! ------------------------- "Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do." - Bertrand Russell "Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what you are told. The Knights went So bad Dave hasn't commented on it yet. I believe Malzahn has some cultural/institutional issues to resolve for next year (wrt number of transfers), as well as the need to develop a real passing attack. Two great semifinal games. Surprised to see TCU pull off their win, but showed the naysayers they deserve to be there. LMAO at the commentators in that UF game. I watched the link first w/o sound, and was rewarded on replaying it with the volume up. |

UF has very real problems now and in the fall. Tulane vs USC might be the game of the year. What a battle. Little Tulane behind all game picking off the heisman and the big California school.

Pulling for TCU in the championship game Monday night. The Big12 2023 schedule comes out in February and it would be cool for UCF to host the National Champions in the bounce house.
It's been a fun year for college football. 2023 looks to be more exciting. At least for me with UCF finally in the Big12. For the bowl loss, meh, it sucked. Duke wanted it more! LOL. I could tell early in the first quarter UCF was going to lose. UCF did good in recruiting and transfers the past couple weeks. Gus Malzhan has hired a new OC and says he isn't calling plays anymore. New OC is Darron Hinshaw. Ex UCF qb from 91-94 who pre-dates Daunte Culpepper. He has extensive experience the past couple decades coaching. Hopefully he does wonders for UCF coming up. We need offense improvement. Go Horned Frogs against George 'dawgs. Monday night should be interesting. |

GO UNDER FROGS !!!
From unranked and picked to finish seventh in the preseason to playing for a national title. Dykes said TCU is proof it can be done. "It gives hope to everybody," he said. "I bet there are lots of people in places like Manhattan (Kan.), Houston, Orlando (Fla.) or Stillwater (Okla.) who are saying, 'If they can do it, we can do it.' And I think they're right." Just don't call them underfrogs. "I think that Cinderella story ended a long time ago," TCU linebacker Dee Winters said. |

God they got their asses kicked. What a brutal humiliation for TCU.

If anyone really thought that was going to be a game you don't shit about the GAME. They could have destroyed them with every backup at every position if they would have started! Thats how good the dawgs can be when healthy and playing for something!

2 early thoughts:
- Joega would have beaten ANY college team last night! - Last night's ass kicking was NOT a very good argument for an expanded playoff! ------------------------- "Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do." - Bertrand Russell "Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what you are told. Final AP Poll 1 dawgs 2 TCU 3 Michigan 4 yuckeyes 5 bama Based on how Ohio State performed against UGa, I expected them to be #2 in that poll. Funny thing about Alabama is they are the only other team that could have given the Dawgs a real game (assuming they retained their focus, as oppose to their erratic losses). In the end though, I think the expanded playoff is a good thing. Maybe 8 teams instead of 12, but it can help to (slowly) build some parity in the game. As it is now, the most successful big-name teams attract the best talent, and thus have the most success. If players see that other schools have realistic paths to a title, it may entice them to select other schools than the traditional powerhouses. Unfortunately, players are now looking more for a realistic path to the NFL than to a title. The expanded transfer portal may accelerate that, but it might also bring more parity to the game; e.g., UGa's entire second string could form another competitive university team. One downside is that it favors experienced upperclassmen, and may lead to fewer players completing degrees because of all the issues with transferring academic credits. |

early thought: - Last night's ass kicking was NOT a very good argument for an expanded playoff! ^^This! I agree completely. Think about it this way. The Vanderbilt Commodores lost to GA by 55 points. TCU lost by 58 points. By that metric...is Vandy better than TCU? Vanderbilt didn't even qualify (nor should they have) for a bowl and TCU was selected to the BCS. Every 5 years or so there are maybe 5-6 teams good enough to win it all. Most years it really is only 2 or three. No need for an expansion. It will make the regular season and Conference Championships that much less meaningful. Watering down the product will result in less interest, not more. ------------------------- Slide On |

College football playoff expansion to 12 teams: How will it work and when will it start?
The Playoff will expand college football's playoff tournament from four teams to twelve, adding two extra rounds of competition. How will a 12-team College Football Playoff work? The top four conference champions will be followed by the top six at-large bids and the two highest-ranked remaining conference champions in the 12-team format. Ordered by College Football Playoff rankings. That assures at least one "Group of 5? club will reach the Playoff each year and, although rare, provides more than one G5 team to replace a "Power 5? team. Keep in mind Notre Dame, Army, UConn, and UMass, who are not conference members, will never be in the top four under the authorized system. They cannot win a conference title. No independent club will ever get a Playoff bye. Seeds 5-8 host playoff games against seeds 9-12, giving the top four a bye. After that, the remaining eight teams will play in the New Year's Day 6 bowls (Rose, Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, Cotton, and Peach). After that, the quarterfinal and semifinal bowls will swap annually. The top team will then pick its quarterfinal opponent and location. Next, the No. 2 and No. 3 teams will choose their venues. Finally, the No. 4 team automatically plays in the quarterfinals' final bowl. The highest-ranked team entering the semifinals will choose its bowl, while the other two will play in the Playoff's last bowl by default. https://en.as.com/ncaa/college...-when-will-it-start-n/ |
