I have a 2012 Cannondale (carbon frame) Synapse that I keep at my daughter's in MD for when I visit. Long story short, I was in a freak accident in a group ride and broke the seat post. Nobody stocks the part anymore, but, except for that, the bike is immaculate, so I hate to scrap it. In desperation, I am trying a new tack. I'm looking to buy a 2009-2012 Cannondale that may be trashed component-wise or have a crack in the frame, but has a good seat post. If you or anyone you know has one, please let me know.

Bummer. Is it a dropper post? I love dropper post. Best invention on bikes since sliced bread.

No, it's a road bike.

Carbon fiber? Just a suggestion but take to one of our local resin wizards for repair?

Also, from Cannondale: This is no longer available, but can be replaced with Synapse Seatpost KP215 and Topper KP214

tom, thanks, but those parts are no longer available either. My best hope is to find someone with one in their garage that they no longer ride and want to sell cheap. I have pretty much exhausted all websites that might have one. I hesitate to have one make one out of resin as it gets a lot of load side to side. I am thinking about having a metal shop craft one out of aluminum, but that is a long shot. I would much rather find the original part or the substitute parts. I have talked to Cannondale several times and they've offered some ideas, but, alas, no luck with them.

Dang, those must have been popular (read poorly made). I like your aluminum idea. One of the guys on here owns a machine shop with CNC. He helped me with a couple projects beyond garage shop ability. Can't remember who but will try or maybe he'll see this and post.

Nope, they actually were very well made bikes. It was just a freak accident.

I meant the seat posts. Seems like a lot got sold? Cannondales are great bikes.

Nobody breaks a seat post (except me, I guess). I am guessing there was not a lot of inventory and it is a 13 yr old bike.
