Yes, I remember "We Care A lot" in the 80s. I had no idea what band it was just heard it in the night clubs. Then after 'The Real Thing' did I learn they did Care A lot, but with a different singer. Of course now with the internet we know everything!

I've seen them several times. They sound nothing like the albums. Songs were mostly unrecognizable until the vocals stopped.

LOL. I went back and listened to faith no more's albums. Yeah for apple music and the instant access to everything. Today's music lover has it so much easier than what we had. Hearing 'we care a lot' on the dance floor at the obscure alt night in dive bar orlando and wondering who played it. Maybe hearing it on the late night college radio and never getting the band name...to now...just click on entire album and run thru it by clicking my airpods. Yes, their music is rough and not easy listening. But, it's only rock-n-roll and I like it!

And, then learning thru wiki that the singer for i care a lot was a heroin junky and overdosed died from it. Geez...like everyone else. The tortured artist is a recurring theme.
The spat between the Chili peppers and Faith is semi-interesting. Definitely similar music. With Faith a little more rockier and Peppers funkier. |

Speaking of RHCP, there used to be a show on weekends called "UP All night". This is where I first heard of them.

Slimy you beat me to it. That was my favorite part of that album. They have evolved so much since his death. Two different bands really. I liked them both. The live shows were strange. Sometimes his vocals sounded like Tina Turner simultaneously clearing her throat and seeking her lowest register. I saw them once in Honolulu and laughed at how the entire black clad rocker post punk punk crowd was arm in arm singing "easy" from Lionel Richie. It was funny. It felt like a really big wedding.

I'm not familiar with their entire catalog, but I was really bummed when my car got broken into and my "King for a Day" CD got stolen along with the player.
I'll have to bring myself up to date; thanks for the reminder! |
