I enjoy listening to the Sinatra station on XM every once in a while. My parents listened to that type of music and still remember them playing it on Sundays on the family's stereo system. Lots of Don Ho Tijuana Brass, Bobby Gentry, Glen Campbell, and big band era stuff. In hindsight it was cool. They didn't like the music I wanted to play! HA!

Mark Tremonti sounds great....Just need Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, and the rest of the Rat Pack!

There are some other modern singers doing that jazzy nightclub type music, one I like is Robyn Anderson. She and her group play everything from old standards, to buddy holly to classic rock to White Stripes to ??? and arranges them into nightclub torch songs. Pretty cool I think.

Good stuff Bamboo! Same here with the parental influence. I like how much I have grown to appreciate stuff I would never have actively listened to as a kid. Elvis, Frank, Dean, Perry Como, etc. Saw Kool and the Gang open for Van Halen in 2012. Blew me away and probably would have never seen otherwise. Nothing better than stepping out of the norm. As Mark did with this recording. Ive seen him live and his playing is amazing, second to none. To see him pull this off is super cool. Its been called the best Sinatra cover, ever! My wife is a huge Michael Buble fan. I tease her that a rock-guitar-God blew him away with his first attempt! Cheers...

Doesn't sound anything like Frank Zappa.

My Frank station on Pandora was too much Rat Pack, so I went with a Bobby Darin. It's plays everything from Frank and the Pack to rare 50's rock. Love the genre.
