It might be a last opportunity. A government shutdown is about 95% likely for October 1, and this shutdown will be different from previous ones, with lots of federal employees fired rather than furloughed.

Time and tide wait for no one.....

In some ways, Florida is stronger on National Forests (Osceola and Ocala) and National Wildlife Refuges (Sanibel gets more visitors than Everglades National Park). The scattered parcels of the Archie Carr NWR in south Brevard were the brainchild of a Fish and Wildlife Service employee who managed to arrange the planning and eventually found some money (largely private). The State and I think even Brevard County bought a whole bunch of parcels.
