Wieland's guess is the same as mine--the story mentioned an odd-shaped parcel.  Even good wind orientation.

For airport access, MIA is important for Latin America and the Caribbean, but FLL is more popular.  Really well organized.  Haven't been to PBI.

Hmmmmmm. Certainly large enough, , , , roughly 600 X 5200 feet. The existing plot in California is roughly 340 X 2600 feet.

Now, do we know the dimensions of the current pool, in regard to the actual wave mechanism, and resultant wave? Rough Google Earth rulering says that the current pool is aprox 200 feet wide. Then, there may be room for two (2) pools, one right and one left!

EDIT: I did not read the part in the article that delineates the proposed pool's size; 185 X 2000 feet. Hmmmm, , , , , a right when the plow goes one direction, and a left when it returns to the starting point?

Oh, and, , , , we are talking about a very, very, long dreamed of "wave" place!!!! Who here has not had fantastical dreams about a wave machine ever since that place in Arizona opened?

Now, it all seems to be a reality and, , , , we are having serious talk about nearby international airports!!!

Let the Braz dudes pay the full price for "prime time" and let us local slobs pay the reduced price for "non-prime".

South Florida makes sense. Much larger population and more money down there than Central Florida.

Yes, keep it in South Florida.

If ... if I want to surf the wave pool, I'll make the drive, I'll stay in a nice hotel
one or two nights, surf and and make a mini-vacation out of it.
Then, I'll come back home to "our waves"

If they put in up here in Brevard/Palm Bay, "they" would drive up here,
surf the wave pool and then stay a few extra days surfing "our" waves,
taking up "our" parking spaces, and crowding "our" lineup even more.

Bad enough daner keeps coming up here from waaaaaay down south!!

Keep it in South Florida.

Thank you , Captain Obvious! .

The NEW So Fla Trifecta will be: Catch the refracto swell, then do the wave pool, then end up on a random hurricane swell on the Gulf side. You heard it hear first.

Looks like permitting might get expensive, wet site

I thought you were personally going to walk that permit through?
