ACOE wetlands - that may have been the deal breaker. Takes them forever and mitigating might have been expensive. Also, nuking prime habitat while Sierra Club et. al howls probably isn't a good look for WSL.
They engineered a valve to be placed at several points along the pool bottom, would allow groundwater to flow up to reduce pressure when draining. Maybe testing failed? Water supply may have been an issue too. They had an injection well in their plans for disposal of dirty water (very expensive), but no wells for water supply. Their plan was to buy treated water from a utility (also, very expensive). I recommended a Plan B. Likely much less expensive to install and operate an R/O system using saline water from the Upper Floridan. Looks like poor planning and jumping the gun got them. Nobody listens to Turtle. hope this isn't true. Saw a story that WSL cancelled the construction due to high water table in the area. Saw it in thePalm Beach Post.

Concur with Sunrise on this. Why would any surfer in this county wish or lobby for a wave pool? You really think you'll be using it $$$$. It's like hoping that someone opens a surf school at the end of the street that you live or surf at. Hope it never makes it up this way. Don't let the Disney stuff. like a wave pool, migrate into this area.

Seems unlikely. I looked today. I'm not sure who's waves those were. GI Joe maybe.

Sounds like doing a $1500 soil boring would have saved them a lot of time and money....

Hell you'll hit groundwater with a hand auger there, or just look at the data from other borings in the area and save the $1500.... ------------------------- Specializing in sarcasm and condescending rhetoric since 1971. |

Too simple to overlook the water table issue. I'm guessing this is a cover-up for something else, like the return is projected to be lower than expected.
They'll probably revisit their business model and see how they can make money off this

Wasn't there supposed to be a big one made in Orlando a few years ago? Just read a article how Slater's wave park in Cali is just breaking even and possibly loosing money every month hopefully one being built towards Miami will be more affordable for regular surfers to enjoy. Also I sent you a PM about a board thanks
