Surf is small, glassy, and rideable this morning. 2-3 feet at Hightower. an Extra foot in size would have been better for me, but the groms and longboarders were tearing it up. @HT.

Summer doldrums are over.

20 mile buoy at 12 feet and 12 seconds. I just watched the ChooPoo contest a few days ago. I think I'm ready for it.

It's pretty much breaking on the horizon in Cocoa Beach.

Maybe the track gives us what we want: bombing ground swell, offshore winds and long period.

it won't be long period. Matthew was a bust. Maybe two to three hours of decent surf.

it won't be long period. Matthew was a bust. Maybe two to three hours of decent surf. Same thing with David back in 1979, swell was gone by the time they opened the bridges up and you could get back to the beach. Although David was only a weak cat 2 when it cruised by. That was also when the AF tore down the remaining piece of the old Patrick Pier, before Davie hit. ------------------------- "Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do." - Bertrand Russell "Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what you are told. Yep. I wasn't here for David. Heard it was gnarly. Sorry I was such a downer. It's been a long few days. Maybe with the path further out we will get some blow back this way with a better wind. Hope P-land open Thursday morning?

LBLarry - The remains of Patrick pier were blown up (by the Navy) sometime between early Sept and Thanksgiving 1974. I can place the year because I brought my roommate (actually trailermate whose parents had moved to New Mexico that year) back for Thanksgiving weekend and went to point it out to him as we drove by (and was amazed to see it was gone; it had been there when I returned to school in Sept). We only lived together one year and he transferred from UF to UNM after that year, so, I have a milestone to remember the date.
