A lot of these newer wetsuits are labeled as having limestone neoprene or Japanese neoprene - how is the material in comparison to the standard neoprene? Less comfortable / lighter?
Any other material/ brand recommendations ? Haven't bought a suit in a couple years so I'm not up on all the tech. Main concern is comfort/stretch. I'll say that the rip curl E4 from a few years ago was super warm for a 3/2, but felt really tight in the shoulders (rough for paddling). Had a Hurley 3/2 about 5 years ago and it was ultra comfy, nice and stretchy, but pretty cold. Wind cut right through it. It was their basic $250 model. Also had a huuuge waist for a large. Must have been 36" - all kinds of slack in the belly. While I'm at it - O'Neils current base model top (the $50-60 ones) are terrible in every way. Bought one last December. Harsh to touch, stiff. I actually returned it for a rip curl in the same price range and it was great. Edited: 10/08/2019 at 07:17 AM by J20 |
