Unfortunately, we can protest all we want. It won't do any good. They are allowed 4 condos and 17 multi-level buildings by law. They just spent $13.5 million on the land and another $1 million to clear it. It is going to be developed.

It's the people in 2004/2005 that zoned it this way that are the problem, sell outs.
Yes, there will be condos from Key West to Jacksonville. It's inevitable.

The vote is not "to do the project" or "not to do the project."
The vote is whether there will be "three condos and a hotel" or "four condos and 17 multi story buildings."

Agreed- there's loads of beach towns that have not succumbed to anything close to what Satellite allows. One other alternative is for the city to buy back the property. Population of Satellite - around 15,000, around $1,000.00 per resident, or funded through increases in taxes elsewhere based on tourism or whatever else the city can determine is taxable?? No one over blinks an eye at tourist, sales, gas, "impact" taxes etc. And of course - get rid of the leadership, as they are doing no favors to residents. The people certainly had, and maybe still have the power to fix this.

Why not in Flagler?
