More than 99% of Italy's coronavirus fatalities were people who suffered from previous medical conditions, according to a study by the country's national health authority.........

The new study could provide insight into why Italy's death rate, at about 8% of total infected people, is higher than in other countries.

The Rome-based institute has examined medical records of about 18% of the country's coronavirus fatalities, finding that just three victims, or 0.8% of the total, had no previous pathology. Almost half of the victims suffered from at least three prior illnesses and about a fourth had either one or two previous conditions.

More than 75% had high blood pressure, about 35% had diabetes and a third suffered from heart disease.

That sounds like most of the US.

Avoiding other people for a few weeks, is that too much to ask? Are we really that spoiled?

People are dropping like flies in Italy. Annual run of flu hasn't done that in my lifetime unless 'they' have been hiding it from us all this time and this is just a big hoax.

back to the OP topic - I see people are parking on the road next to the closed parking lots and walking over to the beach. This can't be good from a safety standpoint, A1A is a deathtrap anyway. Wonder what the response will be? Be Safe People!

pinellas, manatee, and sarasota counties closing all public beaches and parking...wondering what this means exactly. there's tons of little cuts/walkways to the beach, some with no parking at all (but i'd guess they are technically "public beach access" points). will they tape those off or what? they can't control the high tide line and water, or private beach (i'm assuming a beach is private if there's houses, businesses, hotels, etc on it. its a bit of a hodge podge on the gulf coast, sheriff bob sayin it'll be hard to enforce).

Cocoa Beach closed the beach side lots, but we have public lots and a parking garage that can't be closed because they serve the local establishments too. Long story short, the Coconut's beach was packed.

Yesterday (Thursday) all beaches in SatBch and PAFB were open for business as usual and still packed. Today every beach access parking lot from RC's to Hangars was in full lockdown, some even blocked off with concrete Jersey barriers. Guess it's official now.

Indian River County and Vero Beach are closing all beach access at the close of the day on Sunday. St. Lucie County is keeping its beaches open.
