Ever since the beach side park closures, it seems that my local spot has been more crowded than ever due to the availability of parking at a church, a mechanics shop and a car lot all right across A1A. A narrow walkway and deck loaded with surfers (local and other wise) looking at the surf has led to some interesting confrontations concerning social distancing with people trying to traverse the walkover without getting the plague. That and the clusters of people on the beach is not good!

My point in this is if we abuse the parking that is available and overcrowd accesses that have parking nearby, the county will close the beaches and wreck it for everyone. I have lots of friends in Jax, that live beach side and they are all going nuts right now with this swell on the way. They can't even walk on the beach......CLOSED!

Bottom line. If you are coming from afar to enjoy the beach, be discreet, park a little farther away, if there is a crowd where you want to go, MOVE ON till you find something a little less crowded. If you live beach side, ride a bike or walk! (good exercise, essential activities)

Also, STOP LEAVING YOUR TRASH! A friend was talking to the pastor of the church mentioned above. He was requesting that the people using the parking lot please be more considerate and clean up after themselves. This guy has no issue with people parking there but seems to be losing patience with people abusing his hospitality.
It reminds me of what happened at RC's.

Just food for thought.

TwinFin....Please ask the Preacher to close his lot down...it's for the good of everyone around here. Place a no Parking you will be towed ...it's only for a short time, few months from now open it ..He is actually part of the problem by allowing parking...seems he would realize that???..so simple

I live in the condo with the parking lot across A1A. Had two people from New York park right in front of me and walk to the beach. We called the tow truck and they yanked their rentals out. Everyone in my complex is extremely annoyed by this and we will continue to get any non residents towed. If you can't walk to surf, too bad so sad.

By outlining specifics regardless how some people might think nothings changed, make's it easier to police activity. I give them credit for making official too, common sense says active healthy folks will handle surviving going thru this thing better in the long run. Everything being closed beachwise around the country ('cept beloved Brevard Co.) is all geared to managing people from spreading this creep'in crud in their own way. ymmv Got a couple fun carves at noon's kinda glassoff on nice thump'in against the grain big shoulders- yeEw! Feel'in lucky, to bad cain't go to da Casino~

Hurry up, Get back on CNN, you might miss something important. It is reported they are current showing a hospital packed with people in New York. They had to go all the way to a hospital in Italy to make the video.

Wow! That got political fast...............Not my intent.
Yes it is seagull and yes it is annoying! I am not a localism guy, that is not what this is.
This is about keeping a good thing, beaches open to walking, swimming and swimming with a flotation device etc. The people abusing this are gonna hose it up for everyone!

YES..... and about not spreading a disease. No Offense O-town peeps, Orange county is #4 in the state in cases of Covid, so think about that when/if you drive/park to surf. EVERYONE FIND YOUR OWN SPOT (even if it's not the best one) at least you're surfing.
