From my brother in law in PR: Our curfew begins at 7 p.m. then you have to be in the house or it's a $5,000 fine and six months in prison. everyday the Surfers try to go out and then Marine Patrol boat shows up blaring over the loudspeaker "all you Surfers out of the water back to your house ... Surfing is not an option"

Brevard can't do a simple task that needs to be done...Close the Beaches already, so you miss what 1-2 more swells before summer flatness...big deal hopefully you have many YEARS left to surf , you will not suffer. I won't even comment on what I saw yesterday, please stay home..

The degree of selfishness exhibited by some on this site amazes me. Amid this crisis, some surfers think they are special and that surfing should be considered an essential activity. Out of town surfers are flocking here in flagrant disregard of their own home counties' stay at home orders. Others are making comments about the policies being implemented are a violation of their constitutional rights. Last weekend, there were posts by people offended because they were ordered out of the water when they were in violation of the beach closure order. We are all citizens, all have social responsibilities that include obeying the law and directions as we battle this pandemic. We all need to behave as if you care about others' health and well being. Your behavior may unknowingly result in the death of others.

I think it was Stab Magazine that had a good writeup on why the closures are justified and prudent.

ffs people stop congregating on the crossovers 2 feet from each other and stop standing on the f-ing stairs. social distancing doesn't mean forcing people to pass 6 inches from you because you are too stupid to move. have to agree the otown idiots and west coasters coming here for waves going to ruin it for everyone else and get people sick

I'll leave the debate on whether or not people should be surfing to other people, but RC's was absolutely re-donk-ulous this morning. I stopped counting at 120 people. (I wasn't one of them)

So this person has been to a medical facility and tested positive?

The dumps trucks start tomorrow at SPRA....an opening was completed there today so the sand dumping can begin. This beach access site will continued to be utilized until completion of sand dumping that ends at Pineda Causeway and A1A.

How about you out your tinfoil hat ass in the car, drive to NYC, contract the virus and then report back - you since it's FAKE and all. Dumbass...

Went for a run today, MelBeach area, and was surprised to see the Sheriff patrolling the beach on ATV. First time ever seen that, 25 years. Be careful and safe all.

They are finally lifting the beach restrictions in Duval Co and allowing for physical activities. The counties south of that may soon follow. Maybe this will cut down on the traveling surfers.
