Brevard County plans to reopen beach parking, but cities to keep their lots closed for now

VIERA - Brevard County Commissioners agreed Thursday to reopen most county-owned beach parking lots as soon as Saturday, despite pleas from six beach-side cities to keep them closed at least another week, in the wake of the novel coronavirus.

Saturday the third, Paradise beach was reopened By the Public... Somebody moved one barricade to the side and 500 cars parked there.. civil disobedience at its finest.

I was going to get wet this morning but beaches looked so crowded. Even the mellow areas. Lots of people are looking at the Coast for the much needed stress relief from this pandemic and lockdown.

I don't think I can blame them. Lots of unfortunate individuals who lost their jobs and waiting on unemployment, etc. If going to the beach helps them forget about the shite situation for a couple of hours, I can't be against that

My friend from Satty faded me off of a wave at my home street, so I'm all in favor of the sand bars down south getting back to normal ASAP. lol

It's like 4th of July/Memorial Day weekend out here. Really disappointing that they allowed this to happen.

I couldn't get to the water without walking right next to groups of people. I have a bad feeling about all of this, but I hope I'm wrong, considering it's the elderly and infirm who will pay the higher price.

Definitely not the smartest idea. I was a block south and Paradise looked as packed as Coconuts would be during Spring Break. Shockingly the lot was blocked off Sunday after that F up.
