bugsbunny Posts: 71 Joined Forum: 12/18/2013	DP. I KNOW YOUR BROTHER REALLY WELL. I HAVE A WAVE CREST SHAPED AND SIGNED BY AIPA IN THE EARLY 1970'S. 8'6" THICK, WINGERS 3FT FROM THE TAIL. ODDLY IT'S A ROUNDED TAIL. MINT CONDITION FROM ALBERTA CANADA.

garcia Posts: 1471 Joined Forum: 03/12/2007	Aipa had the most incredible, radical shapes and surfers in his stable. We were blown away when Bertleman, Ho, et al hit Surfer. And, he freaking ripped giving us bigger guys someone to look to for inspiration. I saw some photos of him doing the same radical stuff on a longboard not that long ago. Hope all is well with him and this sale is not for chemo or something.

StirfryMcflurry Posts: 8746 Joined Forum: 08/17/2016	a long time ago- I sent pix of my Wave Crest Hawaii board to Randy Rarick for his opinion and I got this reply : .........Not a bad example of a typical "stinger" from the early-mid 70's. In OK condition, not super clean, but not super beat. No "name" shaper, so that brings down the value. There is a lot of interest in 70's and in particular Hawaiian boards.--- Randy Rarick - Former world champ surfer and collector/seller of old boards........... .....................& also RIP to Ben.
