Forecast? Sure. Swell will arrive about high tide and just after the wind goes hard onshore...

I think for any significant swell to show, a storm needs to get West of Bermuda?

Not neccessarily. Really depends on the overall size of the fetch.... but generally to get those PUMPING swells, yes Big divergence between EURO and GFS past a few days. Both have us surfing for awhile (with mostly onshores) but EURO is showing that 1st system blowing up with the effects of an approaching front.... sending combo swell potential. LOTS of variables with these as fall weather patterns are starting to show up north, so pay attention if you have limited days off. (for the 1st time in years, I do )

....will be cleanest with best size/form just after sunset and go flat at sunrise next day.

You know I like the hype as an escape. The reality is really bringing me down. It's just too accurate.

This weekend is looking interesting. Invest 94L.

It's angle of attack on the Carolinas might just light up our sandbars.

your boi is now gainfully employed making sure your bae area drinking water is safe to consume so ill be sitting this one out due to covid restrictions (apparently i have to tell management of my travel plans outside of the tri-county area ahead of time still not entirely sure but not worth the risk given the difficult climate and prestige of yob). so that means the wind will either turn offshore or stay 5 knts or under. let you "locals" have your fill. looks like sally swelly is on her way though in long term...we shall see...

If I hadn't been looking at the surf forecasts I woulda said Wed, 9/16, would be the peak but everything I'm looking at says Sunday, 9/13, is the peak with the surf size dropping every day after that until it picks up again Sat, 9/19. So I'm clueless.

Might be the one behind it? The invest coming off Africa now which will be tropical wave tommorow & forecasted to become storm weekend.... That one is forecasted to boom up, these current two are only forecasted to become 60-70mph storms and turning early so far out there = little to no effect here, maybe a day or possible two or some smaller but noticable long period swell

-------------------------

get up early and go surf - it'll make that hangover go away and/or make the workday more tolerable :)

Peak Season is Peak Season!

5 disturbances and wave models show surf for weeks starting this weekend. Paulette looks to be a great swell maker for us.

Now we just gotta worry about the local winds

Onshore wind machine it looks like for the next week

Got up early this morning thinking I can DP with some clean conditions and as soon as I got outside the wind hit my face as if I owed it some money. Looks like it's lightened up some since.

I think your gut instinct was the correct one. lots of waves coming.... but also lots of onshores. I'll take onshores with swell underneath.... if the cause of the onshores is keeping the storms off the coast.
