what's the plan for Mel Beach and South, have they already done it? Are they planning to go past Aquarina? The sand at the old SBI bar/restaurant is almost gone.

Sand here is already gone from last year. It all currently sits on the reefs, screwing up the ecosystem and our breaks.

Was surfing in NE FL for the holidays and the bottoms were not any better up there. High Tide was preferred

At least they are pulling it in from offshore and it's not the dirt they clog Satellite with.
I'm not sure I understand Cocoa Beach, considering we have dunes and active vegetation growth. |

We can send Debbie some angry letters, but I don't think it will help.

Don't make it like this sand dump is going to spoil our great current line ups. The bars suck! Just as likely get some positive bottoms out of it . Anyone really think it could be worse ?

We had a two year run of great sandbars after the last go.

I think they got tired of dealing with citizens on this issue and snuck in 50 year contracts a few years back for beach re-nourishment projects.
Not 100% certain, but I thought I remembered seeing that somewhere a while back. ------------------------- Worst thing I ever read - "No tropical cyclones at this time" |

THEY have been trying to save the Outer Banks of NC for 30+ years. If you've ever been to Hatteras in the 80's, you'd see a vast difference. Back then, there was a several hundred yard walk to the water. THEY had to move the lighthouse to a different location. The bridge from Kill Devil Hills to Pea Island was almost a pier for a while. I surfed with a guy who inspects the pylons, and he said several were free swinging. NC hiway department's action was to close the lane on that side of the bridge.
