Guys with normal abilities getting pitted. What's not to like? Guessing that jetty allows for paddling out easier. That is some heavy water.

The Basque country has a wave magnet setup, the really deep water offshore and a special little canyon at Hossegor. But surfing at the Paris Olympics will be at Tahiti, not Hossegor or Biarritz. Probably the most distinctive thing about the Basque country water scene has been bodysurfing in waves like that or larger. It's pretty much there, California (some San Diego and Santa Cruz; San Francisco and Wedge), Hawaii, Rio de Janeiro.
