Just looking at the long range...

3. Ida is expected to be a dangerous major hurricane when it reaches
the northern Gulf Coast on Sunday, and the risk of hurricane-force
winds continues to increase, especially along portions of the
Louisiana coast, including metropolitan New Orleans. Potentially
devastating wind damage could occur where the core of Ida moves
onshore.

4. Ida is likely to produce heavy rainfall later Sunday into Monday
across the central Gulf Coast from southeast Louisiana to coastal
Mississippi and Alabama, as well as the Lower Mississippi Valley,
resulting in considerable flash, urban, small stream, and riverine
flooding.

Yeah, ole Aunt Ida looks to be an angry beast..... not sure if the speed she's moving will justify the long drive over.... timing of swell/wind is dicey

My buddy surfed north of Naples and caught a soft fat log roller with offshores. It was fun but not really what you think of when you think of hurricane swell.

Lots of driving.... lots of paddling... some legit solid surf, and surfing with some super cool world class rippers was cool too . I'm a tired low-functioning human today. Hopefully carnage in LA wasnt too bad.... EURO is super bullish on one for next week... we'll see
