This for me makes it obvious the "Interference Penalty" is an overly harsh punishment now. At the moment the way it's managed essentially eliminates everyone from comp that I've seen regardless of the impact it had on the outcome of a heat. It'd be far more 'fair', revamping the Rule to punish a determined violator subjectively by the 'Head Judge' 1 of 2 ways depending on whether is was determined to be 1)-'Intended 'Technical', or, 2)- ''No intent- 'Accidental". IE: Like the gradient NFL's "Facemask" going 5, 10, or 15yds exponentially, and giving a level of credence to any negative impact to the aggrieved Heat scoring potential. Neither 'Foul' being penalized more harshly than say, a #1 "Technical":=no score for next 2 scoreable waves ridden, a #2 "No intent- Accident"=no score for 'next' scorable wave ridden. Somethin like that~~ YMMV Yo dos centavos ;^) !
