Has anyone else noticed that big wavers have an odd glint in their eyes? A thousand yard stare type of thing. When I was younger, I spent time in less desirable areas and the people who ate from the garbage and drank Sterno had the same type of look.

It's that hole in the soul they're trying to fill with adrenalin. I know that look too. I can read a lineup and spot them. I can spot them at rodeos, gun ranges, and all manner of other places. I've seen it in girls but it's much rarer. My buddys smoking hot girlfriend that couldn't care less who saw her tanning topless in the back yard.

Have known Jimmy since 1960. He was the first guy I met when we moved to NE 2nd St. He lived on 3rd and saw us moving in. Came over and started showing off doing pullups on our swingset. Lived there for 12 years. I think he was 2 yrs older than me. His family moved out a couple of years earlier and lost track of him then ran into him in the CCAFS cafeteria. He was bellowing about something and, as soon as I heard his voice, I knew it was him. Went over and started catching up. What a "character" still.

When you heard the hoot from the conch shell, you paddled for the outside. A set was on the way. I snagged some good ones with that bit of knowledge back in the day.
