Seems like back in the day there were a decent amount around here. As a former bodyboarder, I miss seeing them in the water throwing ARSs and getting barreled. And dropknee boog is super sick.

I should have brought my surf housing to Vero South Beach recently. An adept bodyboarder was doing good moves on 3' waves.
I think there's a substantial bodyboard revival. Bodyboard Holidays (Cornwall) and eBodyboarding (southern Cal) are doing training/fun trips. I had the pleasure of watching Craig Whetter on a good but not spectacular day at The Wedge. He was doing a coaching session on this safe, predictable side wave and on his own on bigger. Watching videos is nice, but live is better.

A good 4-minute video for explaining how bodyboarding is serious. Even if the wave is an oddball.

Fuller morning coverage from Dingo. He does a wide range of videos, Wedge is just because it's fascinating.

I enjoyed the videos. I've bodyboarded there once a long time ago, was definitely crazy but super fun. Even though I now prefer to surf, I will still sometimes miss the "in the wave" feel that is unique to bodyboarding. It really makes you feel a part of nature.

Brent Weldon. I wish I'd had my camera on me when he was trying to catch a skimboarder up close with a waterproofed cell phone. He's an accomplished water photog, has taken to wearing helmets in the speed bump zone, transferring from Gath to Simba
.
Craig Whetter (lean blond guy with Versus board) is very visible.
