Cali shore break can get so sketchy , this place and Seal Beach are number 1 and 2 . It always amazes me that more people do not come home in a Wheelchair from a session at either spot ! ( I would never attempt either wave on a conventional foam and fiberglass surfboard as the sheer danger factor is off the scale ! )

Having watched a bad broken leg in early June (the victim, an expert, was about 3/4 back to normal sometime in August), I'm impressed at the risk. I'd like to hear an orthopedist's views. Anyway, surprisingly fast, here's this morning:

Brent Weldon, 17th. Typical of Newport Beach, the lifeguard stand was flying a yellow flag. "Medium hazard (light surf and or currents)"
