I've ordered customs from alot of local guys (Stu,Tom,RC,Haney,Mike Daniel,Ragan,Birch,Mayo and a few others) and I'm usually quoted around 4-8 weeks and every single time they have delivered within that time frame sometimes earlier. We'll my dumbazz decides to order a well known brand not local but from a local shop because I know its going to make me surf better! We all know this shit! No airbrush just clear epoxy performance shortboard that I wanted a little thiner and a few other tweaks from a off the rack model. 150 deposit and was quoted 14 -16 weeks on June 1st and was planning on taking this board on a trip. I guess I already knew the lesson but thought what the hell. Should I just eat the $150 and let this found brand go bankrupt or wait longer? What kind of time frame have you guys waited on from a popular shaper?

3 months is standard these days, especially epoxy. Busier company means more people in line.... I'm guessing said brand is "not knowing one's whereabouts"

I will say this, at least with these guys, customs often get finished by the guy at the top at least... my last custom was a poly and took 3 months, and "I know a guy" If you wanted an epoxy, next time get a "Black Dart" version, made in FL (will still take awhile though, but worth the wait)

I'm assuming Drew? Good guy. He vaccum bagged a Neilson I used to have. I've ridden a black dart they work in the right conditions but I like a little more flex. Thanks

PlanB also "knows a guy" that has Al Merrick on speed dial.

shipping, even from California may also be part of the delay. IMO, they wait longer to ship larger batches of boards in order to fully fill a container. Or other logistics /shipping options to save $$.
