Brutal. But at least we had offshores. Overhead burgers on south side of pier, wedge like close outs with some really talented guys pulling in and some even making it out. The current was terrible and I had to swim through the pilings after getting educated on the inside. The outside on the south side was breaking 30 yards in front of pier. My wax was almost worthless in the cold. Got exactly five waves and three were good long lefts. Getting out was flat out treacherous and my buddy had a great in st sunset and got pounded getting out of the water and buckled his board. I don't think my feet have been that cold for that long since forever. I'm glad I surfed but damn that was a lot.

Way too cold up here in Brevard for me. I'm ready for warmer weather and water.

Wind was more like straight north at Wabasso this afternoon. I was, once again, wearing a 5/4 high quality hooded wetsuit, no doubt from a clearance sale. I ended up seriously chilled anyway. Age takes away one's ability to adapt to cold.

Friday on the island in palm beach was the day I was waiting for over a month. The first cold great wave.

Some fun sliders in Cocoa Beach today but a mystery infection in my knee kept me from freezing in my ill-suited fullsuit.

I got a Ben gravy xcel last year for 130 when he left them. I got my son a Billabong furnace. I had surfed the day before and my Ben gravy was still cold and wet and my son is at school so I used his billabong furnace. That furnace is by far the best wetsuit I have ever worn. It's fleece lined and super flexible with a neck zip. I don't wear one often but it's worth every penny of the 350 I paid for it.

I picked up a Billabong Furnace because it looked like it might have very good seams AND was at a cheap sales price. It seems a winner.

Someone commented on that video that it looked like Seal Beach. I had made about the same comment on a similar photo or video, based on this from a month ago:

I have the quik with all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately, the glue on the outer seams flaked off, and the suit has become a submarine with a screen door.

Gear Aid's Aquaseal + Neo neoprene contact cement is probably not the best material for re-gluing the outsides of seams, but it's available locally. I'm patching an aging Patagonia.

My buddy is the Excel guy. Everyone hits him up for favors, so I try to stay clear, but sometimes things just need to happen.

Howdy, ww! I'll call.
I just got a large sheet of soft 1.5mm neoprene. I can cut whatever width strips you need for doing seams, or I can do worst areas for not much $. Just finished a complete re-seam of pretty new mateus, the heat weld seams just crumbled away in under a year! Charged $70. I have the tub neoprene glue I got from a dive shop, but the tube stuff works well. ------------------------- spindrift |

Juno. It reminded me of a typical smaller day at the wedge. Guys with talent just charging into closeouts breaking right on shore. What the video does not convey was just how heavy that current was in the impact zone. Brutal. The cold gray sky added to the sense of despair on the inside.

Seems I remember that pier when it was still intact. Went with my older brother and his friends, maybe 64/65. They went on to lose to melbourne high in state football championship.
We checked it many times later, don't remember it ever being good. The re-build of the Jupiter pier made for some really good days....especially north side.....without all the aggro fucking kooks southside....like lake worth. ------------------------- spindrift |

spindrift, my Patagonia's seams are fine, it's just the line of rubbery material covering them that has been splitting and coming loose. The Aquaseal seems an adequate if inelegant remedy. I shoulda consulted.

You rock brother. Seems a common problem on some newer suits. I will gift seam tape and advice for anyone who needs it. And full zipper, seam, tear repairs. I've done a lot more suits, actually ramping up to scuba and dry suit repairs, those start $150 minimum. Actually got a guy might help me do size alterations, I'm doing coupla surf school inventories.
yuuuge market, but surfers first...as always ------------------------- spindrift |

Ya, maybe its just me but the fuzzy liner seems to hold more water, heavier? I know it holds more sand, haha. Ripcurl ebomb 3/2 full no zip, I've had good luck with ripcurl. What are you using that's not lined with fluff?
