Cornwall gets plenty of surf. Erin was too windy, but some good videos anyway.
This old video (has to be speeded up to 2X because it's presented in slow-mo) is distinctive for its close-in onshore videography. ------------------------- wavewatcher - >ww - >wavewatcher, again |

Holy Shit Take Two ! WW : I echo what Colester said ! ( & The choice of background music makes it an even more ominous video watch .... )

That video's cloudy light and noxious storm waves were a good setting, but the videography seems very original. Using a longer focal length than most would, which probably meant a high failure rate. I'd like to hear from some of our excellent Florida videographers. Maybe Jacksonville, where the locals have mastered nor'easters. The videographer seems to have done that one surf item, then didn't bother again.
I've seen a video or two of bodyboarders taking on messy winter surf in Cornwall, but a look around just now didn't turn one up. They do have clean days and some occasional huge waves. This ad-infested YouTube has the founder of Bodyboar Holidays in Newquay explaining his adventure right in town. I've visited once, but unfortunately had an eye infection, so no getting wet. I think Rob's been a major promoter of bodyboarding by offering serious but fun weekends and trips. ------------------------- wavewatcher - >ww - >wavewatcher, again Edited: 10/29/2025 at 02:59 PM by Wavewatcher |
