Texas gets some surf, but Galveston is not the best spot. The surf quality analogy would be FL is to Cali as Texas is to FL.

No Texas does not have ESA it's the TGSA, they plenty of surf. Much more then the gulf coast of Florida has and good surfers too with one of them being on the US Team--Mens.

Bob Hall pier, J.P. Luby surf park, Aransas Pass , all are in the Corpus area and have fun surf. Further south, South Padre Island is also good, with better water quality.

Yes Galveston will get surf. I grew up as a kid in Houston and learned to surf in Galveston. Surfed the Flagship pier and the jetties around there. Remember always getting tar on my feet and board.

Check www.spadre.com the next time there is a storm in the eastern gulf.

South Padre Island is considered the best Texas has to offer.

Plenty surf all up and down the coast as well.

Granted, a once-in-a-lifetime type storm, but I remember seeing pics of that place from the Hurricane Katrina swell, and it looked pretty insane.... one spot looked like small Sunset
