And Jenny McCarthy says her son's autism is caused by vaccines. Anecdotal evidence provided by people without the proper education/professional experience, while emotionally involving, is more than suspect.

That article repeated cited contaminated drinking water. PAFB drinks the same water that Cocoa, Merrit Island, Cocoa Beach and Canaveral drink. Shallow wells / sprinkler wells near PAFB are a source for sure. Does anyone in that area drink well water rather than city water?

I grew up in that neighborhood (2 streets south of Pineda on NE 2ndSt, late 50s to early 70s) and we drank nothing but well water when we were out playing. There was a deep well between every fourth house that was shared by the two houses and we just turned on the hose all summer long. Played in it all summer long and drank it all year long. I know of the studies, I know of the illnesses (and I sympathize greatly), but, the evidence, so far, is anecdotal. I am not minimizing the pain of those afflicted and their families, but, their testimonies should not be mistaken for expertise.

Cocoa City water is drawn from deep wells, generally north-west of the city's center (the main processing plant is out off of 520 in the West.

And, to add to Garcia's comments, , , , the well at our house was a 300 foot true-artesian that was fresh, clean, and flowed under its own pressure. No contaminates, that is unless there were those "things" coming down from Georgia and the Carolinas.

I lived next to the radar dome, played in the palmetto fields next to it (crossing the dirt "4th street" now Pineda, and climbing under the fence) for 15 of my first 20 years and am fine. I also have many friends who lived on my same street and they are fine. I also have had several friends who lived nowhere near here that have also died of similar cancers, etc. I am not saying that it is not a cause, just that all evidence until now (including my great health) is anecdotal, not scientific evidence.

I am concurring with what I (think) was dingpatch's point. The well water we drank and sprayed on our yards was clean water. It is not logical that it caused any of these diseases. I've always wondered about the radar, but, there is no evidence, so far, that it caused anything. If it did, you are at far greater risk using your cell phone (which is held up to your ear for longer periods than the radar every was, which had a short burst, as its transmitter rotated, in any one direction every 20 seconds or so).

The groundwater wells in Cocoa Beach were tested and yes, the water will kill you if you drink it....eventually. All sorts of nasties.

Cole, yes for sure but, remember, "most" ground-water wells around here are Very Shallow to begin with.
