As a furtherance of TeeBird's "What's Coming Next, , , ," thread, , , , ,

Lots of opinions out there in the wild; from "screw it, if I get sick, I get sick, , , ," to "should stay locked down until there is a vaccine, , , ,".

So, what do you think will be our "new normal" a year from now?

With my current lack of an immune system, , , , I'm going to be "isolating" for some time to come; at least until there is a vaccine.

Some of my thoughts, , , , ,

The 4th of July is probably going to be very bright and noisey. I think that everybody in the neighborhood is going to cut loose and blast the end of their driveways. That is, if "fireworks stores" are open??!!??

Concerts and movie theaters are toasted toast as it is now. I don't think that AMC theaters will ever be open again and they will probably be bankrupt and gone by the end of summer. Perhaps a concert in a wide-open-space? Drive in theaters just might be the next "Big Thing"?

I can't see that the Public Schools are going to open back up anytime this year. Maybe by spring terms in 2021?

Re: the new normal after 9/11 and then Newtown.

We will integrate even more precautions and guidelines into our society. The one bright spot here is that we can find treatments and vaccines eventually and hopefully we will set up massive infrastructure worldwide to detect deal with future pandemics. Now we know; we ate the apple.

Solutions for human-caused violence are harder.

I can tell you one thing, if I make it through this, I'm not shaking anyone's hand ever again.

Oh and, I'm pretty sure that the local strip joints are also toast. What is a "social distancing" lap dance going to be like?

And, , , , we'll find out some of the "new" normal on May 27th, 4:32 pm, when SpaceX launches the Crew Dragon, with 2 American Astronauts aboard, on its way to the ISS.

Real puzzles about returning to normal entertainment at the King Center. A major booking agency has shut down and doesn't know when it'll reopen. Brevard Symphony will be trying to have a normal season (they're booked for their normal Vero Beach appearances). The Botanical Garden is planning a normal holiday Garden of Lights. Disney might open in June, or later, or whenever. The 41 Broadway theaters in New York won't open until June at earliest, maybe not until Labor Day.

The only way to slow it is test, trace & isolate. And, the only way to effectively do that is to have individual's cell phones send the unique number code to nearby cell phones - like they're working on in Germany - and then have that system back trace & notify all who came in contact with anyone who later test positively. Then those people self isolate themselves to curb the spread. Only thing that works PERIOD... Problem here is we'll fight about privacy, don't want government to have cell phone etc etc. And, even if we get past that and become open to that system of tracing so many of us are wayyyy to selfish to actually volunteer to self isolate ourselves if find out "might have" not even mentioning other reasons not to like economic .... Soooooo long story short, we're gonna be dealing with this for a while, probably will be some pretty bad 2nd waves. Only way I think can really open country back soon is if rapid testing at workplace, entrance to events stores restaurants etc. So yeah gonna be weird for a while and really don't see any normalcy until get s vaccine but that's no guarantee, I have faith we will get something but it'll take time. We might find a semi cure sooner which is what I think everyone, including the stock market, is betting on and if that happens it's a whole different ball game

get up early and go surf - it'll make that hangover go away and/or make the workday more tolerable :)

With any luck, my fear that 'everyone I see is infected' feeling with go away. lol

Smell perfume? I got the Rona!

Pass to close in the store? I got the Rona.

Pick a nice booger? Rona time!

This too shall pass. Hopefully, the next president and government will take things like this seriously, so we don't have a repeat.

My son will absolutely not be returning to school anytime in the near future. That's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard.

DeSantis just announced that schools will remain closed through the end of the year. I took one for the team listening to the press conference, so you're welcome

Yeah thankfully he did the right thing. Sorry you had to listen to the press conference.. I was lucky and just got a text

The fact that it was even being considered is disturbing at best..

Well, school is to continue "at home", which is good.

But now, as a "side" issue, , , ,; the College Board has cancelled all testing for now, with an indeterminate schedule for a resumption. . . . Hmmmmm, OK, so what? Well, if colleges do open up for business in the Fall, and/or continue "online classrooms", , , , , there are many, many, schools that still require "tests" from the College Board! Sure, as it is now, , , , , your high school senior is going to graduate with a 4.5 GPA but, they aint going to get into USC without a "test" score!!
