Jonny Quest probably would too.

I wonder if they have some of the problems figured out. Fuel consumption has been much higher at Mach > 1 historically, and the engines have to produce a lot of thrust. But if you fly really high...who knows? The intakes also have to be designed to hold a shock wave.

As you can see from the shape in the image, it doesn't lend itself to true cylinders either. Harder to fabricate.

What a challenge for a company. Startup aircraft companies have a horrible success rate. Couple that with trying to go supersonic. The environmentalist will explode and if successful ban your product. Corona virus issues and economy tanking. Partner is Boeing who is tanking. Only in the US do you find someone with the guts to take that all on.

Great. Another 650 families moving to Brevard and it only cost us $3M in subsidies. I wonder if we will ever stop bribing companies to come here and bring their people with them. (They never hire local because we lack the skill base.) It is a big con.

With the $300 million investment comes 675 new high-tech, high-paying jobs by 2026. Enough time to get a BS or MS degree.

All these replies are interesting.

It's surely tough to say whether something like this is a net positive or negative.

I'll say this though. If the top tax bracket comes back there may not be so many buyers.

What's the matter? You don't want 650 more stand-up paddle boarders, foilers, or standup paddle-foilers?

Growth never pays for itself. It is time to quit bribing companies to come here. Take that money, invest it in education and technical skills for the next generation (our kids and grandkids) and companies will fall all over themselves to come here for our skilled workforce. We don't need to be somebody's bitch. Once they come here and meet their obligations under the bribe we give them, they have us over a barrel. In 5 years (or whatever the term is), they, just like a sports team, come wanting more "or else we'll move to (fill in the blank) and leave 650 workers (and their families who now have roots here), on your unemployment roles". Brevard Co. EDC peddles big lies, just like the TDC. I managed statisticians and their first words were invariably, "What number do you want? I can prove it".

We've seen it time and again with businesses, sports teams, etc, etc, etc. We keep falling all over each other while they play us. We, the unwashed masses, get nothing but problems, while the connected few reap huge rewards. It is a con and our "leaders" are too starry eyed to see it. The few who want to disband the TDC and EDC are spot on. They are snake oil salesmen.
