Will not happen in Fall. Spring a question mark. That's my bet - what say you?

On top of that, reports say that if it does happen in Fall then the expectation is that key star players with a clear path to the NFL may sit the season out.

Put out by Danny White yesterday, UCF AD.

I maintain my optimism that we will be able to play sports in 2020-21. UCF plans to offer classes on campus this fall, including a combination of in-person and on-line classes. However, please know that, we alone will not be making decisions about how fall season unfolds. We are actively working with the American Athletic Conference on plans for the return of football games and other sports - while state and local government officials will give guidance relative to the number or percentage of fans that, for example, could attend a football game anywhere within the state or region.

In summary, there are multiple factors at play in this process, many of which are outside of our direct control. Our goal remains the same--to provide safe, memorable experiences at UCF Athletics events for all fans. Once we receive a decision on the percent of capacity allowed inside the Bounce House, our team will finalize the various contingency plans we have in place and publish them so fans can make arrangements to enjoy game day in Orlando.

And, , , , , the hopes of a NFL season are dimming, , , , 72 players have tested positive, , , , and, they are not even "in camp" yet (?).

fyi, UCF vs Baylor on ESPNU tonight (friday 7pm). 2014 Fiesta bowl. UCF was 17 point underdogs against Baylor Big 12 champs. Watch Blake Bortles do his thing back in the day. It was an exciting game if I remember. UCF was not suppose to be there but snuck in due to the one year the BIG EAST was part of the BCS auto-bid. SHOCKED THE WORLD!

Of course not better than live football. but, I got my dvr set so can watch and skip the commercials.

good riddance, the NCAA is a scam. Hey players just shut up and get CTE, here's a scholarship for some of you. I will miss the NFL though. The NFL is complicit of course but the people that make it to the bigs acknowledge the risks and get paid right. The NFL should 1) allow players to come right out of high school 2) advocate for college players to get paid.

PS twitler wants college football. so it must be bad.

I am 50/50 on the HS things. While some have a body that is NFL ready at 18, many do not. I think it's much more a safety thing.

Yup - players should be able to make money of their likeness. It's un-American to suggest otherwise. NCAA is going to go through some serious changes - players are finally realizing they have a shit ton more leverage than they thought. Without the players, there is no product.

Same here. There will be the very few KIDS that are exceptions to this, but the rest would get killed going straight to the NFL from HS. You even here pro's who come back after injury talking about the speed and power of the NFL. A HS grad would be a sitting duck out there.

The NFL makes people wait three years. Are they committed to players getting an education? Not really since a high school diploma is all that is needed. So no pay, maybe a scholarship, but CTE is almost assured!

College football is a scam.

Yep, that CTE thingy is no joke.

But, and, as far as CTE goes, , , , it has been found that it can be just as bad in soccer from "headers"! Yep, and pro soccer aint about to say a word about it. Ban one of soccer's premier moves? Nope!

Say anything about it and you get a hateful reaction from various soccer nuts.

CTE in the NFL happens all the time from "incidental" contact/hits, , , , while headers in soccer are intentional. Go figure.

9 Oklahoma football players test positive for COVID-19 after break from practice
Jason Owens

Yahoo SportsAugust 15, 2020, 4:12 PM EDT

Oklahoma football coach Lincoln Riley announced on Saturday that nine players on the team tested positive for COVID-19.

The positive results were from tests conducted Saturday after the team took some days off of practice. Riley told reporters that 75 percent of the team remained in Norman during the break and classified the cases as "community-based infections."
