UCF enters the season with a sense of accountability under new coach Gus Malzahn

"All five of the team's starting offensive linemen return, making it one of the most experienced units on the team with a combined 4,404 offensive snaps under their belts from last season."

Today's UCF press conference. First game this Thursday, 7pm. Boise State coming to the bounce house. Big game for both teams. We will find out real soon what's up with UCF Knights. I'm expecting big things, but so is everyone team's fans. The first loss will blow the bubble I'm in but I'm all in on UCF going all the way to the National Championship! Go Knights!

Who stopped watching UCF football when there was a 3 hour weather delay on kickoff? Who stopped watching UCF football when losing 21-0 to Boise State?

Might want to watch the highlights to that game if you turned it off!

I did. I woke thinking Malzahn's debut was a loss. Damn was I wrong. That is quite feat the Knights just accomplished. For a first game, that will put a lot of wind in their sails.

If you aren't a UCF fan yet, you will be. Go Knights!

Yeah for football season starting up! This weekend some great games scheduled. Glad I got a win in my back pocket going into the weekend.

So, my assessment of the game. Boise is really talented and should have won that game. It was theirs in the first half. UCF kept making dumb mistakes. The 3 hour delay may have done something.

But, UCF did not give up. The score right before the first half to get within ten points was crucial. Half time adjustments and both teams came out the 2nd half looking to win.

UCF defense stepped it up and finally stopped Boise. They have some talent and look really good. They probably crying on their long flight back today. They let that slip away.

For first game for Gus Malzhan, he coached the team back. He rode Isaiah Bowser (RB) to ground and pound Boise in submission. 33 carries and 174 yards. Boise got tired in the 4th. some players were dropping with cramps. UCF was not tired in the 4th. Strength and conditioning won that game.

The refs were Mountain West refs and they had some questionable phantom holding calls and called back a blatent targetting penalty that would have ejected a key player for Boise. Then a couple other no call targetting. At one poing UCF qb Dillon Gabriel (late 4th quarter) looked like he needed carried out on a stretcher on a helmet to helmet collision. No call. Dillong got up and finished the game but no call was BS.

The game was never decided until the final play in the game. Boise clock management (new head coach) was lousy at the end. Boise made a ton of mistakes like UCF did in the first half. Probably due to being tired.

Game could have gone either way and if that game was played in Boise, they probably would have won.

Now, with the win, UCF better move into the TOP 25. A ton of football in front of us.

UCF crowd looked like a near sell out. They had locked the gates to get in at 7pm (scheduled kick off). Thousands were stranded right outside the stadium with a storm approaching.

2 hours and 45 minutes later they opened the gates. A good crowd stayed but most left to escape the storm and get some food. I wish I had stayed but the wifeola wasn't having it. I ended up getting home to watch on ESPN. Kick off around 945pm'ish. I forget.

Down in the dumps with a 21 point deficit, but stayed with it. Cursing at the Tv, the refs, dumb UCF plays...then the ship got turned around. 2nd half was a nail bitter.
