I'm happy to have taken advantage of deep clearance sale prices a while back at Cleanline for a Patagonia. If Matuse's new technology works, I would expect prices to get more realistic. Meanwhile, Rip Curl is promoting wetsuits with welded (not sewn) seams and there's continuing disagreement about fuzzy wetsuit linings. Feral (expensive) explains why fur is bad on its website, and Matuse seems to take the same approach--its suits are slippery on the inside, not carpeted. Cleanline has a good wetsuit guide. I picked up a wildly expensive (but marked down) Japanese 3/2 suit from Hurley before Nike sold it. The sizing was smaller than Hurley's standard at the time, so it remained in the closet, too nice to get rid of, until now. It's become a great fit.
